Welcome to Withington Girls' School

Thank you for visiting our website which is designed to introduce you to our very special Withington community and to encourage you to visit us in person and learn more at first hand.

Since my appointment, in 2000, as Headmistress of Withington Girls' School, I have continued to marvel at the range and depth of academic and extra-curricular activities on offer and the standard of achievement of the girls in all areas. 

In spite of the School's ongoing and outstanding record of success in national terms, it continues to be one of the most relaxed educational establishments in which I have worked and a far cry from the academic hothouse all too often envisaged by those who look only at our academic results but who have never been inside our doors.

The School functions in an atmosphere of respect for self and others without the need for long lists of rules and regulations. The girls thrive in a friendly and caring environment; they have - and provide - a lot of fun and leave to take up their higher education places well prepared for the next exciting phase of their lives.

Our pupils are proud of their school and are always keen to act as personal guides to visitors.

We have three official Open Days in the Autumn, the dates of which are published herein, but tours can also be arranged at any other time by phoning the School Office.

I do hope to be able to welcome you to Withington in the near future.
